Modeled after Tokyo’s Omotesando, Taichung’s Grass & Insight Boulevard has unveiled a brand-new look after a year of redevelopment. Combining several greenways in Taichung’s West District, Grass & Insight Boulevard features a series of green parks stretching about 3.6 kilometers from the National Museum of Natural Science, passing through Civic Square, the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and ending at Art & Culture Boulevard. The area regularly hosts various events and is a popular destination for city residents seeking greenery on weekends. During the event period, free shuttle buses will depart from Wuri High-Speed Rail Station starting at 9:00 AM every Saturday and Sunday to Civic Square, where free bicycle rentals are also available, giving out-of-town visitors the chance to stroll leisurely along this long-enjoyed local green corridor.

Besides taking a low-carbon stroll along Grass & Insight Boulevard, the Low-Carbon Parade Carnival on May 12 will kick off from the National Museum of Natural Science. On the day of the event, participants are encouraged to get creative by decorating their zero-carbon vehicles—such as bicycles, skateboards, inline skates, or tricycles—and join the festive parade. The route will pass through Boma Road, Yingcai Road, and Gongyi Road, offering a zero-carbon way to explore downtown Taichung. In addition, from now until June 10, the “Grass & Insight Boulevard · Green Living Glass House Exhibition” at Civic Square will light up at 6:00 PM every evening and open for visits from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays, extending the beauty of Grass & Insight Boulevard into the night.
