This Mother’s Day, pick a restaurant with a great ambiance to treat your mom to a well-deserved break. Nestled along a verdant forest path right next to the Beitou Cultural and Creative Park, L’Hermitage Resort boasts a dining area with a scenic koi pond shrouded in mist, set against the lush green backdrop of the Danfeng Mountain Range and Datun Mountain Range—its 270-degree mountain views make for an exceptionally relaxing meal.

Asparagus and bamboo shoots, which are in season from May to June each year, are rich in fiber and antioxidants, with their high vitamin content also helping to relieve fatigue. L’Hermitage’s Chinese restaurant Yong Cui Ting and Western restaurant European Bistro are both offering special Mother’s Day set menus featuring white asparagus and green bamboo shoots respectively, allowing moms to enjoy delicious food while also looking after their health.

Yong Cui Ting’s Executive Chef Yu Yongquan noted that this Mother’s Day set menu focuses on local ingredients, such as Taiwanese grouper, locally grown green bamboo shoots, and organic vegetables farmed by farmers from Yangmingshan. With cooking and presentation that blend traditional Taiwanese cuisine with Western influences, moms can slowly savor each exquisitely prepared dish in the dining space embraced by the Danfeng Mountains.

Among them, the “Yong Cui Gentleman’s Pre-meal Collection” features ingredients such as cherry duck breast, lobster, and dried mullet roe, complemented by crisp and juicy bamboo shoots. While enjoying a feast of mountain and seafood delicacies, you can also savor the natural sweetness of seasonal vegetables. The “Tea-smoked Cod Roe with Buttered Barley and Mixed Vegetables” takes Yangmingshan’s king of groupers—grouper—and processes it through marinating, steaming, and smoking. The delicate and flavorful fish melts in your mouth, with a faint tea aroma wafting through, making it truly enticing. The accompanying barley is simmered in the chef’s specially prepared broth, adding even more layers of flavor to the grouper. For those who prefer a family-style meal where everyone gathers around the table, Yong Cui Ting also offers a shared-table dining option.

Moms who prefer Western cuisine can opt for the “White Asparagus Seafood Set Menu” created by European Bistro’s Chef Li Zhongyu. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu, Chef Li combines French white asparagus with wild silver salmon, where the delicate and fragrant flesh complements the unique sweetness of the asparagus.
