Korean Stars to Rock the Sea Stage as 2012 Yeosu Expo Opens Tomorrow

The 2012 Yeosu World Expo (EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea) will open on May 12 in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. During the 93-day event, in addition to 14 performance stages and exhibition areas, 7 domestic corporate pavilions, and 4 outdoor themed zones for visitors to explore, starting tomorrow (Saturday), there will be the “Sea Stage K-Pop Concert” featuring performances by Korean artists such as Wonder Girls, 2AM, and CN BLUE. Visitors can experience an authentic K-pop concert live without needing to purchase additional tickets.

The “Sea Stage K-Pop Concert” will begin tomorrow, with a total of 7 shows scheduled on 05/12 (Sat), 06/15 (Fri), 06/19 (Tue), 06/30 (Sat), 07/05 (Thu), 07/14 (Sat), and 08/11 (Sat). Participating artist groups include Wonder Girls, Busker Busker, Dal★shabet, 2AM, Jung Young & Leessang, CN BLUE, and ZE:A. The performances will take place from 7:00–8:00 PM on event days. Visitors to the Yeosu Expo can enjoy the concerts at the stage without extra tickets.

This Yeosu Expo runs from May 12 to August 12, with participation from 105 countries and 10 international organizations. It is expected to draw over 8 million global visitors. In addition to the Expo’s theme pavilion, the international pavilion showcasing the latest technologies and cultures of 105 countries, visitors can also board offshore fishing boats to observe tuna fishing operations, experience sub-zero frozen fish storage, and explore both traditional fishing methods and modern high-tech capture techniques at the Offshore Fisheries Experience Zone. Multiple performances will also be held at the Big-O Sea Stage.

In addition, starting May 12, a “Head to Yeosu” lucky draw event will be launched. Those who sign up for Yeosu travel packages offered by travel agencies on the event website can participate in the draw, with three drawing opportunities on 6/12, 7/12, and 8/30. Furthermore, visitors to the Yeosu Expo can take photos on-site, upload them to the event webpage, and share the most appealing aspects of the Expo to enter the “Head to Yeosu Sharing Gift” lucky draw.
