ANA Star Wars characters unite in full force – C-3PO livery plane makes its Tokyo debut in March

Attention Star Wars fans – following R2-D2 and BB-8, the newest character C-3PO will now join Japan Airlines’ (ANA) fleet, completing the ultimate reunion.Introducing the latest Star Wars™-themed livery plane, the C-3PO™ ANA JET, featuring the iconic color scheme and beloved elements of C-3PO. It will make its inaugural flight on ANA621 from Haneda Airport in Tokyo to Kagoshima on March 21, 2017.Going forward, this aircraft will be regularly operated on various domestic routes in Japan.

Since their initial debut in early 2015, ANA’s Star Wars-themed aircraft have generated much buzz. Following the addition of the R2-D2™ ANA JET and BB-8™ ANA JET to international routes, the C-3PO™ ANA JET will also make its debut on March 21 this year, flying the domestic Tokyo–Kagoshima route. In addition to the themed exterior, passengers aboard the C-3PO™ ANA JET can enjoy in-flight features inspired by the character, including specially designed paper cups, headrest covers on seats, and even cabin crew aprons featuring C-3PO motifs.

The C-3PO ANA JET will join the existing Star Wars livery aircraft fleet: the R2-D2™ ANA JET and BB-8™ ANA JET, which are currently operating on international routes, while the new C-3PO ANA JET will be deployed on domestic flights. ANA is the first and only airline in the world to feature special Star Wars character-themed external liveries on its aircraft.
