Upgrade from Cathay Pacific’s Premium Economy Taiwan-Hong Kong segment to Business Class for free

As the summer travel season kicks in every year, expenses such as transportation and accommodation tend to rise. However, aside from international accommodation providers recently offering booking discounts, Cathay Pacific has also launched a Premium Economy promotion starting today. Passengers who purchase Premium Economy tickets through Cathay Pacific’s reservation office or major travel agencies and depart from Taiwan to destinations such as Europe, Australia, Johannesburg, and Mumbai before September 15 will be eligible for a complimentary upgrade of their Taiwan-Hong Kong segment to Business Class on either Cathay Pacific or Dragonair flights.

Currently, Cathay Pacific and Dragonair operate over 190 weekly flights between Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, and Hong Kong. This upgrade offer not only allows passengers to enjoy Business Class seating and meal services on the Taiwan-Hong Kong segment for free, but also earns them 125% of the Asia Miles flown.

Cathay Pacific’s newly launched “Premium Economy Class” features 26 to 34 seats, with a seat pitch of approximately 96.5 cm—about 15 cm more than in Economy Class. The seats are wider, and the backrest can recline more significantly. Amenities include a large tray table, a cocktail table, footrests, a 10.6-inch personal TV screen, power outlets, multi-port connectors for personal devices, and additional storage space.
