Camping, cycling races, and indigenous evening galas—the Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival kicks off in August

The Taimali Golden Needle Flower Festival is coming soon. This year’s Taimali Golden Needle Mountain Summer Stroll Series of events will grandly kick off on August 4th and 5th. The Taimali Township Office has planned a beach camping experience activity and an indigenous traditional dance competition gala to be held at the Dawn Park starting from 6:00 p.m. on August 4th (Saturday), as well as a series of activities including a Golden Needle Mountain cycling mountain-climbing race starting at 7:00 a.m. on August 5th (Sunday).

Registration for the Dawn Park Beach Camping Experience Camp ends on July 6th. The registration fee is NT$1,000, which includes one double tent (with sleeping pad), two hot spring vouchers for Jingu Hot Springs, two round-trip bus tickets between Dawn Park and Jingu Hot Springs, and public accident insurance. The Golden Needle Mountain Cycling Mountain-Climbing Prize Race is divided into a competitive group and a challenge group. The race starts at the Taimali Township Office and finishes at the Ziyun Mountain Villa on Golden Needle Mountain. Registration ends on July 6th. The registration fee is NT$500 for road bikes (competitive group), NT$400 for mountain bikes (competitive group), and NT$200 (challenge group), all of which include a NT$100 consumption voucher (valid only in Taimali Township). The highest prize in the race is NT$10,000.

A special flower-viewing shuttle bus will also be available for round trips between Dawn Park and Golden Needle Mountain for flower viewing. The registration fee is NT$300, which can be used for consumption at local businesses or purchasing agricultural specialties within Taimali Township. Due to limited spots, registration is only open to those who sign up for camping.
