Combining CNN’s recommended snacks, the city government offers a $300 Taipei Snack Feast

The Taipei City Government has gathered Taipei’s classic delicacies and will present two rounds of “Classic Theme Banquets” during the Taipei Food Exhibition from July 12–15. The first round features the “Taipei Snack Feast” at the Expo Park Flower Competition Hall on July 13. For NT$300 (approx. $10 USD), enjoy 12 classic snacks plus a voucher for a Snowflake Mango Ice—a set worth over NT$550. Limited to 500 people. The Taipei City Government recently surveyed and rated Taipei’s most popular delicious snacks, and combined them with the recommendation list from CNN Travel’s “CNNGO” to create the classic snack menu for the “Taipei Snack Feast.” The feast includes dishes such as Pig Intestine Vermicelli, Beef Noodles, Stinky Tofu, and Pig Intestine Wrapped Around Sausage, along with a Snowflake Mango Ice tasting voucher—guaranteeing a feast for participants. In addition to variety and flavor, the event also features well-known snack stalls and shops, including the popular Ah Zhong’s Wheat Vermicelli from Ximending, the much-sought-after Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Buns from Raohe Night Market, and the long-established Hsu’s Braised Pork brand, which started at Ningxia Night Market and even sells its braised pork rice on airplanes.

In addition, the Taipei City Department of Commerce has planned an “Share Delicious Moments” Facebook photo collection campaign. Simply visit any participating shop at the “Taipei Snack Feast” before July 15, take a photo with your food, and upload it to the “Charming Taipei 'Specialty Business Districts'” Facebook page, noting the restaurant/stall and dish.
