The Eastern Pirate King "Cheung Po Tsai" Sets Sail for Hong Kong This Summer

This summer, while visiting Hong Kong, in addition to enjoying the various promotions and events of the Hong Kong Summer Fest, you can also take a ride on the traditional Chinese sailing junk "Cheung Po Tsai" to explore Victoria Harbour and other Hong Kong attractions starting July 3. The "Victoria Harbour Discovery Cruise" on "Cheung Po Tsai" sails every Tuesday and Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm, shuttling across Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Wan Chai, or Cape D'Aguilar every hour. Passengers can choose to depart from either the Tsim Sha Tsui or Central piers, with no limit on the number of visits. Adults pay HK$100 (approximately NT$390) each, and children pay HK$80 (approximately NT$312) each.

The "Cheung Po Tsai" is a red-masted wooden sailboat handcrafted over 18 months using traditional shipbuilding techniques by veteran boat builders. It may also be the last traditionally designed and hand-built three-masted Chinese wooden junk made locally in Hong Kong. With its classic Chinese red masts, the 28-meter-long "Cheung Po Tsai" offers up to 1,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor activity space. The junk is named after the infamous pirate Cheung Po Tsai from Cheung Chau, who dominated the South China Sea in the 19th century, as well as his legendary tales.

The Victoria Harbour Discovery Cruise route includes Tsim Sha Tsui, Central, Wan Chai, and Cape D'Aguilar. Among them, at the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, you can admire the city skyline and watch the vibrant crowds, as well as take in the ever-changing night views of Victoria Harbour. You can also visit the city’s cultural center, where you’ll find historical colonial buildings, serene green spaces, and experience the unique blend of East and West. Furthermore, you can explore the world-renowned Avenue of Stars and delve into the vibrant energy of the city’s nightlife.
