Indigenous Flavors Pavilion Unveils New Look; Tribal Activities to Kick Off in July

The Indigenous Flavors Pavilion at the Flower Expo Park is approaching its first anniversary, having undergone a redesign of its interior space. Starting in July, themed months for different ethnic groups will be held, alongside DIY activities and features such as the Indigenous 'Tree' and a light meal café. Moreover, on Saturday, the 30th, at 12:00 noon, Suming, winner of the Best Indigenous Language Album at the Golden Melody Awards, will serve as guest shopkeeper for the day, hosting a small autograph session. At 7:00 pm that evening, there will also be the “Flavors Reimagined: Indigenous Flavors Pavilion’s Grand Reopening Concert,” featuring performances by multiple indigenous artists including Suming, Luo Meiling, the Tribal Handsome Guys, and the Red Flowers Band. On the day of the event, all in-pavilion merchandise will be discounted by 5%, and the light drink bar by 20%. Visitors can take advantage of the weekend to experience a taste of summer indigenous culture.

The new Indigenous Flavors Pavilion offers diverse thematic tours, with several events planned for July and August. During July’s “Unveiling the Rukai Tribe’s Dance Patterns,” visitors can explore the weaving and jewelry culture of the Rukai people through totems, with planned activities including a Rukai cultural tour, millet divination experiences, and jewelry DIY workshops. For August’s “Tsou Tribe Cultural Journey: A Gastronomic and Cultural Experience,” the program includes a Tsou cultural festival, millet cooking classes, traditional attire try-ons, and other immersive experiences.

In addition, every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 5:00 pm during July and August, an Indigenous Music and Dance Carnival will be held at the Pavilion’s Airplane Plaza, featuring performances by groups such as the Flying Squirrel Cultural Arts Troupe, the Taiwan Indigenous Cultural Industry Development Association, and the Savalang Band.
