Naruko Onsen in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, along with Iizaka Onsen and Akiu Onsen, is ranked among the Tohoku region’s Three Famous Hot Springs, boasting a history of over 1,000 years. The unforgettable “Naruko Yunonori Kōunkan” hot spring ryokan is located right in the heart of the Naruko Onsen area.

Not far from Naruko Onsen Station, the main building of the ryokan features a simple design with dark sloping tiles, its calm and understated style harmonizing beautifully with the lush green mountains ahead. Inside, every element—from the Japanese garden and emerald bamboo grove to the dry landscape rock garden in the dining room—reflects over 200 years of cultural heritage and refined elegance.

Upon entering the guest room, you pass through a corridor with bathrooms on both sides. Sliding open the paper shoji doors glowing softly with light, you’re greeted by a traditional Japanese tatami mat floor and a low tea table.
