The Traditional Arts Center reopens on the 21st — don’t miss the 65-meter fish lantern tunnel and enchanting mist forest

The Yilan Traditional Arts Center reopened yesterday (21st) under new management by the Uni-President Shinmei Foundation. To celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year, its first event, the “Traditional Arts Lantern Festival,” will run until February 12. The “Light of Hope” installation, made up of 1,500 auspicious red lanterns, stretches 65 meters in length and 1 meter in height — making it the longest fish lantern tunnel in Taiwan. Walking through the entire tunnel is said to bring smooth sailing and abundance throughout the new year.

Additionally, the center has created a “Mist Forest,” where timed mist sprays add an air of mystery and excitement to the visit — a highlight for all guests.

The park is decorated with 3,500 sky lanterns, creating a joyful New Year atmosphere. The “Traditional Arts Lantern Festival” also features evening light shows, making it delightful both day and night. During the event, all 3,500 lanterns will be lit at 6 p.m. nightly, accompanied by folk dance performances, acrobatics, and traditional arts shows — transforming the entire Traditional Arts Center into a vibrant, living museum.

Admission is 150 NT dollars. During the event period, bundled tickets are available for no more than 250 NT dollars. Residents of Yilan County can enter for free if they visit during event hours in the evening while carrying a lantern.
