A 115-day round-the-world luxury cruise visiting 28 countries priced at $1.46 million

The world’s top-tier cruise ship Silver Whisper, operated by Silversea Cruises, will set sail from Los Angeles on January 5, 2013, embarking on an extraordinary 115-day global voyage, crossing the equator four times, visiting 28 countries and a total of 52 destinations, and arriving at its final stop, Fort Lauderdale, on May 1, 2013. The cost for the full 115-day around-the-world journey is $48,114 per person, approximately NT$1.46 million, equivalent to about NT$13,000 per day.

The fee of $1.46 million per person includes accommodation, private butler service, gourmet dining, wines, champagne, 24-hour room service, and all gratuities. The itinerary of the Silver Whisper includes French Polynesia, New Zealand, Australia, Asia, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Madagascar, and Mozambique in the Indian Ocean. The ship will pass through South African ports and make stops along the West African coast before continuing to Central America, the Caribbean, and Fort Lauderdale. Various celebrities and experts will give lectures onboard during different segments of the cruise—for example, renowned military historian and author Nigel West (on the Cape Town to Fort Lauderdale leg) and hostage negotiator Terry Waite (on the Los Angeles to Sydney leg).

Passengers on the full circumnavigation voyage will enjoy complimentary private transfers between the airport and the cruise ship, a welcome dinner, and one-night pre-cruise accommodation at The Peninsula Beverly Hills in the United States. Guests will also be invited to an exclusive dinner at China Club, a fashionable club in Singapore, as well as a “Winelands Night” in Cape Town, South Africa—which includes wine tasting, a dinner, and an overnight stay at one of the resorts in the Winelands.
