Master South Taiwan’s attractions, food, and fun with ease

Traveling around southern Taiwan no longer requires bulky guidebooks — you can easily explore six major counties and cities including Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, Pingtung, and Penghu. The upcoming "South Taiwan Tourism Passport," set to be released on the 16th, will have a total of 217,000 copies available for free to the public. In addition to providing information on attractions and a travel calendar for each county and city, the passport also includes 15 themed travel sections and coupons for food, drinks, and entertainment. It can be picked up at major Taiwan Rail stations, THSR stations, and their tourist service desks. Additionally, from August 10 to September 10, an online campaign called “Travel Accommodation Voucher Giveaway” will be held. Participants just need to join the fan page, upload a photo with the tourism brochure, and leave a comment about their favorite attraction to enter the lucky draw.

This tourism passport compiles sightseeing information from Kaohsiung City, Tainan City, Chiayi City and County, Pingtung County, and Penghu County, and offers two-day tour itineraries, introducing local specialties, souvenirs, and quality homestays. In addition, the tourism guide provides discounts from as many as 133 merchants, including Wun Deng Resort, Wu Wanchun Preserved Fruits, Gui Tian Hotel, Yosuko MOTEL Group, Ren Zi Shan Zhai Art Homestay, Mary Flag Cake, Little Kenting Resort, and Mi Zai Sugar. The online version of the guide lists over 300 participating vendors whose coupons can be printed for use.

The South Taiwan Tourism Passport will be available for free at major Taiwan Rail stations, THSR stations, tourist service desks, freeway service areas, Taipei and Kaohsiung MRT stations, and Police Broadcasting System’s Taipei and Kaohsiung stationsplaceand can also be downloaded from the Southern Joint Service Center’s website at www.eysc.ey.gov.tw.
