Hainan Island, located near Taiwan, is rapidly emerging as an international tourist destination. Just in Sanya alone, there are over twenty international-grade hotels, including Hilton. Recently, the wedding party of famous celebrity Big S and the filming location of the movie "If You Are the One" were both chosen in Sanya, drawing even more attention to the area. Now, tour operators are offering a 4-day tropical escape to enjoy the sunshine, beaches, and coconut grove resorts starting from just 11,500 yuan (tax included)—more affordable than domestic travel!

Hainan Island, located in the tropics and surrounded by sea on all sides, has earned the nickname “the Hawaii of the East.” The period from October to March each year marks Hainan’s peak season, as tourists flock to this tropical island to escape the cold and enjoy a slow-paced holiday in the sun and on the beaches—numbers that rival those seen in other resort-oriented countries. Haikou, the capital city of Hainan Province, was also the chosen venue for the large-scale live-action performance series “Impression,” directed by Zhang Yimou—including works like “Impression: Lijiang” and “Impression: West Lake”—which feature stunning local environments as their stages. In Haikou, “Impression: Hainan Island” was launched, where over three hundred performers use the beach and sea as their stage, putting on a grand performance on the sand every evening.

With ample flight availability and short flying distances among other factors, Chen Guosen, chairman of Shanfu Travel Agency, noted that when it comes to flying to mainland China, the flights between Hainan and Taiwan are among the most economical. These affordable airfares also influence tour prices. For example, a 5-day trip along Hainan Island’s eastern loop, staying at four-star hotels and featuring no shopping stops, starts from just 13,000 yuan per person (tax included), while a 5-day tour that includes the “Impression: Hainan Island” performance starts from only 15,900 yuan (tax included).
