Starting September 1 this year, visa fees for traveling to Hong Kong have been waived. All you need to do is apply for a Hong Kong entry registration online, print it out, and use it as your entry document — making spontaneous trips to Hong Kong easier than ever. To celebrate this new measure, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has partnered with various businesses to launch super-attractive Hong Kong travel packages. Among them, Hong Kong Disneyland and Cola Travel are offering a 3-day package for just NT$5,999 (before tax), which includes 4 people sharing one room at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel and comes with 2-day tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland. The package will go on sale on August 18 and 19, from 14:00 to 19:30, at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi’s Station Front Store during the “Grizzly Gulch – Grizzly Summer Party” event. There are only 100 spots available, and the trip departs on September 1.

In the second half of 2012, Hong Kong will host a series of exciting events. From September 21 to the end of October, the Halloween Carnival Month will feature special Halloween-themed activities at Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, Madame Tussauds, and Lan Kwai Fong, giving travelers thrilling and fun experiences. Starting November 1, the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival will kick off, this year highlighting sweet white wines paired with desserts. For just HK$500 (approximately NT$2,000), you can enjoy 10 glasses of premium wine.

Additionally, many brands in Hong Kong that are not yet available in Taiwan continue to gain popularity in 2012. In addition to well-loved Taiwanese favorites such as Forever21, GAP, and American Eagle Outfitters, this summer also sees the arrival of COS, a brand under the H&M group, and the American casual fashion brand Abercrombie & Fitch. COS is located next to H&M on Queen’s Road Central in Hong Kong’s Central district, offering affordable fashion with a more upscale positioning than H&M, showcasing Nordic style through nature-inspired color palettes. The flagship Abercrombie & Fitch store in Hong Kong is situated in Pedder Building, right beside Landmark Central.
