With the Lunar New Year holiday approaching, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration announced on the 23rd a well-prepared traffic management plan for the two counties of Hualien and Taitung, targeting congested scenic spots and roads. Traffic controls will be implemented at seven popular attractions along with shuttle bus services, and travelers are encouraged to make use of these arrangements.

1. Xiaoyeliu Recreation Area: No parking allowed on the entrance and exit sections of Provincial Highway 11. If the parking lot is full, please park temporarily as directed. Double parking is strictly prohibited.

2. Water Flowing Uphill Recreation Area: One-way traffic control is enforced. Buses heading north are allowed to park temporarily on the old provincial highway north of the Yuhu Bridge on Provincial Highway 11. All other vehicles must enter via the recreation area’s entrance and exit northbound via Dong 26 Industrial Road or southbound via the same road. Temporary one-way roadside parking will also be available.

3. Sanxiantai Recreation Area: Access to three approach roads is controlled with two entries and one exit. Vehicles may enter via the original old Provincial Highway 11 entrance and Road 4 (the coastal road from Chenggong Town Seaside Park to Sanxiantai), and must all exit northbound via the old Provincial Highway 11 past Baishoulian. Temporary one-side parking and parking on the open space in front of the old visitor center will also be allowed. Free shuttle buses between “Sanxiantai–Chenggong Town” will operate from the first to the fourth day of the Lunar New Year.
4. Baxiandong Recreation Area: From the first to the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, parking at Baxiandong is free. Northbound vehicles may stop temporarily along one side of Provincial Highway 11, while southbound vehicles are strictly prohibited from stopping on the roadside and will be guided to park inside the scenic area.

5. Shitiping, Tropic of Cancer, and others: Additional personnel will be deployed to manage traffic, with enhanced signage before and after attractions to remind visitors. During peak hours, police will strengthen control and guidance on congested sections of Provincial Highway 11.

6. Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Eastern Coast Line: From January 28 (first day) to January 31 (fourth day) of the Lunar New Year, one additional round-trip shuttle will be added each day. To accommodate traffic controls and vehicle flow, stops for the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Eastern Coast Line will be adjusted: Fugang Port Station will move to Fugang Bridge Station on Provincial Highway 11; Xiaoyeliu Station will move to the Dingdong Bus stop next to the Xiaoyeliu toll booth; Sanxiantai Station will move to the old provincial highway Sanxiantai Dingdong Bus stop (at the old Provincial Highway 11 entrance to Sanxiantai), making it more convenient for tourists to board.

7. Chenggong Town–Sanxiantai Free Shuttle Bus: A free shuttle service has been launched to address limited parking at the Sanxiantai Scenic Area. The shuttle departs from Dingdong Bus Chenggong Station, passes through the Seaside Park parking lot, and heads to Sanxiantai. Service runs daily from 08:30 to 16:00, approximately once every hour. Travelers are welcome to make use of this convenient service.
