The Pier-2 Art Center is hosting the Green Port Festival on September 22

To promote the ideas of green ports and low-carbon transportation, the Transportation Research Institute under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, National Sun Yat-sen University, and Taiwan International Ports Corporation will host the “Green Port Festival – Low-Carbon Lifestyle” event from 9:00 to 17:00 on Saturday, September 22, at the training center on the west side of the Pier-2 Wharf in Kaohsiung Port (next to Pier-2). Through image photography, creative proposals, paper umbrella DIY activities, and second-hand charity sales, the event will explore topics such as energy conservation and carbon reduction in transportation infrastructure, environmental regeneration, and sustainable operations, moving toward the goal of becoming a “Green Port.”

To promote the Green Port Festival, special zones such as “Port City Photography” and “Interactive Exhibition Activities” will be set up to gather impressions and perceptions of the port city from citizens and various groups. From 13:00 to 14:00 on the day of the event, scholars will be invited to discuss the impact of green ports on the Kaohsiung metropolitan area.

Outside the training center of Taiwan International Ports Corporation on the day of the event, there will also be a charity second-hand sale and a Meinong paper umbrella DIY activity. The public can browse and purchase second-hand items, with all proceeds and donation receipts going to the Genesis Hospice Care Foundation for vegetative state patients. Additionally, by filling out the “Future Blueprint Questionnaire for Kaohsiung Port Pier-2 Wharf,” participants can take part in the Meinong paper umbrella DIY activity that day and enjoy the fun of a low-carbon lifestyle.
