Thousands of free mooncakes and premium tea at BiTan’s spectacular fireworks celebration for Mid-Autumn Festival

As Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, the aroma of barbecue fills the streets across Taiwan. But besides barbecues, the “Moon Over BiTan” Mid-Autumn Festival celebration in Xindian District will take place on October 7th at BiTan East Bank Plaza. The event will feature one thousand free mooncakes and premium tea from a long-established bakery in Xindian, as well as fun Mid-Autumn-themed competitions. Local community moms from various neighborhoods in Xindian will be on-site to teach DIY activities, and participants in the challenge games can also enter a lucky draw. In the evening, a grand fireworks display will light up the sky, followed by performances by Golden Melody Award-winning artists such as Harlem Yu and the girl group Dream Girls.

This year’s event is set to kick off at 14:00 in the afternoon, featuring a pomelo-moving contest and a mooncake eating relay. Starting at 17:30 in the evening, one thousand mooncakes made by the renowned Xindian bakery “Jinchenglan Cake Shop” and premium tea from Xindian will be given out. The evening gala will feature well-known singers such as Mandopop queen Huang Fei, Super Star champion Lala Hsu, and Lin Fan, who sang the theme song for the popular drama “The Fierce Wife,” spending a relaxing weekend evening with the public at BiTan.

The highlight of the evening, a massive fireworks show, will be the largest fireworks display since the BiTan Fireworks Festival, featuring a spectacular 25-minute non-stop show that combines the scenic landscape of BiTan with special water-based fireworks, illuminating the night sky over the lake.

Additionally, the highly popular lucky draw event allows participants who successfully complete on-site challenge games in the afternoon, or those who collect stamps by visiting nearby attractions such as the old streets, ferry docks, and literary trails around BiTan, to exchange their stamps for lottery tickets and take part in a prize draw with total rewards exceeding NT$200,000.
