Korean New Drama 'Wedding' Makes Its World Premiere at Taipei International Travel Fair

Taipei International Travel Fair is set to kick off this Friday (the 26th), with various exhibition booths rolling out special offers and performances to attract consumer attention. Among them, the Korea Pavilion will not only showcase Korea’s beautiful four seasons, rich regional characteristics of its cities and counties, popular Korean trends, and attractive travel packages, but will also welcome back the internationally acclaimed and long-running performance group JUMP. Through the actors’ outstanding performances and exceptional musical skills, the production presents a rich storyline and comedic elements. The show is scheduled to open in April 2013, with its performance at the Taipei Travel Fair marking its global debut.

As for the must-see Korean performance "JUMP," it will also be staged during the travel fair. "JUMP" blends traditional Korean martial arts such as taekwondo, flying foot techniques, kung fu, and lively music to tell the hilarious story of two bumbling thieves who stumble into a highly skilled martial arts family whose combined dan levels add up to 117. The performers will showcase high-level acrobatics, vocal skills, music, and martial arts prowess—without any props—on the Korea Pavilion stage, delivering gravity-defying stunts and sidesplitting laughs.

Beyond the exciting stage performances, local governments from various regions of Korea participating in the exhibition will introduce their unique features to Taiwanese visitors. These include winter festivals and the travel paradise “Gangwon-do,” the historically rich and scenic “Gyeonggi-do,” the K-pop themed “Goyang City in Gyeonggi-do,” Korea’s third-largest city “Daegu Metropolitan City,” the beloved “Jeju Island,” and “Lotte World,” home to the world’s largest indoor theme park. Each region will present their tourist attractions via PPT and engage with the audience in interactive Q&A sessions—with correct answers winning a chance to receive special Korean souvenirs.

Additionally, the event will feature hands-on Korean game experiences, including a popular “Gangnam Style” horse-riding dance challenge; tuho, an ancient Korean aristocratic game that tests hand balance, focus, and precision; a food skewer challenge, where participants master using Korean flat chopsticks while sampling authentic Korean dishes; and “Travel Korea,” a dice game where players guess representative attractions from different Korean regions.
