Yeh Chu-lan Appointed President

The Foundation Legal-Person / Taiwan Tourism Association held a board meeting on January 25, where all directors unanimously voted to elect Yeh Chu-lan as the new president. Yeh Chu-lan has previously served in key government positions including Legislative Yuan member, Minister of Transportation and Communications, Chairman of the Council of Indigenous Peoples, Executive Yuan Political Affairs Committee member, Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan, Acting Mayor of Kaohsiung, and Secretary-General of the Presidential Office, and is highly experienced in tourism affairs. Especially during her tenure as Minister of Transportation and Communications, she convened the “21st Century Taiwan New Strategic International Conference on Tourism Development,” increased the international promotion budget, and thanks to the groundwork laid at that time, Taiwan’s tourism industry has steadily advanced to become a destination that welcomes tens of millions of visitors.

Elected as the president of the Foundation Legal-Person / Taiwan Tourism Association at today’s board meeting, Yeh Chu-lan stated in her speech that after assuming the role, she will integrate her past political resources, connections, and experience, and fully channel these assets into the tourism industry. At the same time, she will serve as an important bridge between the industry and the government, enhancing the competitiveness of Taiwan’s tourism soft power and attracting greater international attention. Her goal is to promote Taiwan to the world and bring the world to Taiwan.
