Kaohsiung’s Heavy Sailboats Attract Visitors – Free Experiences Kick Off This Weekend at Xingda Harbor

To cultivate more sailing enthusiasts and establish Xingda Fishing Port as a training and promotion hub for heavy sailboat sports, the Kaohsiung City Government’s Ocean Affairs Bureau will hold free heavy sailboat experiences on November 24, 25, and December 1 at Xingda Fishing Port, offering a total of 360 participation slots. These are divided between online and on-site registration, with online registration now open.

In the past year or two, the Ocean Affairs Bureau has hosted multiple heavy sailboat experience camps at Xingda Fishing Port, attracting numerous sailing enthusiasts. This heavy sailboat experience event will feature five sailing sessions per day, with four heavy sailboats available for experience during each session. Registration is divided into online sign-ups (20 spots per session) and on-site registration at Xingda Fishing Port’s Lover’s Wharf (4 spots per session). In addition to the heavy sailboat experiences at Xingda Fishing Port, the event also offers two paid activities—kayaking and jet skiing—as well as fun interactive games for recycling awareness, DIY resource utilization, eco-friendly DIY cultural and creative booths, and street performer shows.
