Fujita Kanko Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, has announced the establishment of an office in Taipei, which officially commenced operations on December 1. According to statistics from the Japan National Tourism Organization, Taiwan is Japan’s third-largest source of tourists, following China and South Korea. In addition, Taiwan is considered by Japan as an easily accessible and convenient overseas tourism destination, making it one of the top four most favored travel spots for Japanese visitors. In 2011, Taiwan and Japan signed an “Open Skies Agreement,” significantly increasing the number of flight routes and flights between the two regions. As a result, both Taiwan-bound and Japan-bound tourist numbers are expected to continue growing.
