Rent a phone with special deals on reactivated flights to Singapore, enjoy unlimited calls and data

Expensive roaming fees often make travelers hesitant to use their phones abroad. Now, when traveling to Singapore, there's a more cost-effective option than traditional mobile roaming. Hong Kong-based Tink Labs Technology will launch the handy Singapore mobile travel service in January 2013, and from now until April 30, 2013, anyone who purchases an international flight ticket on the TransAsia Airways official website will receive a handy smartphone rental coupon from the company, offering a two-day rental for the price of one. Passengers flying TransAsia’s Singapore routes during this period can also present their Singapore boarding pass at a handy counter in Singapore to enjoy the same discount. The daily rental price for handy is SGD 15 (approximately TWD 362). During the rental period, users enjoy unlimited local voice calls, mobile internet, and international calls, making it easy and affordable for travelers to stay connected.

The coupon validity period is from January 15, 2013, to April 30, 2013, and can be used at the handy Singapore service counter in the Singapore Visitor Centre on Orchard Road. The rental period must be at least two days, and each rental phone is limited to one coupon. Each rental handy phone uses the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone model, which comes pre-installed with the TransAsia Airways app for easy flight information lookup. It also includes a local Singapore travel guide, maps, feature stories, recommended itineraries, and a variety of apps—eliminating the need to carry travel books and providing access to the latest local travel deals. In the future, it will also add booking systems for major performances and tourist attractions, as well as shopping discounts and other services.

 

Currently, renting a handy smartphone in Singapore comes with unlimited local voice calls, international long-distance calls, and unlimited 3G mobile internet. Travelers with laptops can also use the handy device as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Additionally, the plan supports long-distance calls to over 20 countries and regions, including Brunei, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Macau, Malaysia, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.
