“Crazy Dalí” Starlight Concert on 12/29 at Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts

To coincide with the “Crazy Dalí – Master of Surrealism” special exhibition, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts will open its special exhibition starlight session for the first time on the evening of December 29. In addition to providing the public with more viewing time options, from 19:30 to 21:00 in the first-floor Sculpture Hall, the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra will perform a series of exclusive starlight concert pieces specially selected for “Crazy Dalí,” including the “Carmen Suite” and “Farruca Dance.” Visitors only need to present an exhibition ticket stub or ticket stamped with the designated “Crazy Dalí” seal to attend. Attendees entering the concert that day will receive a Dalí mustache sticker upon entry, and after the event, they can exchange their entry ticket for an exclusive KMFA Dalí special exhibition gift at the information desk.

This starlight hall concert will feature dance music as its main theme. Under the baton of Yang Zhiqin, conductor of the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, the ensemble will transform Dalí’s 2D visual artworks into a 3D surround sound experience using musical magic. The melodies echoing through the KMFA Sculpture Hall will make it feel like a lively ballroom filled with dancing figures and laughter. On-site, you can also enjoy the classic “Carmen Suite,” igniting dormant passions; the enchanting “Farruca Dance” and “Jota Dance,” with their flamenco-style allure, invite everyone to dance the night away. In addition to pieces sharing names with Dalí’s paintings, there will be several classic tunes embodying passion, adventure, and sorrow, as well as a solo performance by Xue Zhizhang, principal violinist of the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra, delivering emotionally intense and technically dazzling pieces—all dedicated to fans of Crazy Dalí.

 

From now until December 29, visitors can present their “Crazy Dalí” exhibition ticket stub or ticket at the KMFA ticket window and inform staff of their intent to attend the starlight hall concert.
