During the Spring Festival, high-speed rail services will maintain free-seating options and automatically extend the validity of periodical return tickets.

To provide more ample and convenient travel services during the 2013 Spring Festival holiday, Taiwan High Speed Rail will add 333 additional train services and maintain the free-seating service. Meanwhile, considering that the Spring Festival holiday lasts for nine days, passengers holding periodical or return tickets—typically used for commuting or business travel—will benefit from an automatic extension of the discount validity period for their periodical/return tickets during the Spring Festival. This allows ticket holders to arrange their itineraries with greater flexibility.

Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that for passengers using periodical or return tickets, if the validity period of their tickets includes any or all of the nine-day Spring Festival holiday from February 9 to February 17, the company will extend the validity period by the number of holidays included, starting from February 18. In addition, passengers with periodical or return tickets eligible for the extended validity do not need to apply in person at service counters; the ticketing system will automatically calculate the new validity period and update it when the ticket is scanned at the gate. Passengers can also check their updated validity period via the “Riding Information Inquiry Machine” in stations or the “Online Riding Information Inquiry System” on the Taiwan High Speed Rail website.
