Pray with Shimenawa ropes, attract luck with money-saving jars – make golden crafts for good fortune to welcome the New Year

The Gold Ecological Park in New Taipei City has planned a “Bond with the Jinguashi Shrine – Family Blessings” event from February 11 (the second day of the Lunar New Year) to February 14 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year). The program features a “Jinguashi Shrine Photo Exhibition”, a “Lucky Lantern Quiz with Prizes”, and “New Year DIY” activities that capture the festive spirit. Meanwhile, the Shengping Theater in Jiufen will also present the well-received talk show “Movies Talk” and the musical comedy “Dreams of the Golden City”. In addition, cherry blossoms along the park’s Sakura Trail have begun to bloom, offering visitors a chance to enjoy their beautiful blossoms during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Gold Ecological Park in New Taipei City, designated as a municipal historic site in March 2007, will feature a photo exhibition on the “Jinguashi Shrine” during the Lunar New Year holiday. Based on explanatory texts and images, an entertaining “Lucky Quiz” game will be offered, where participants who answer correctly can receive a limited-edition small red lantern. The DIY area will offer festive crafts such as “Lucky Socks Snake”, “Shimenawa Rope for Blessings”, and “Fortune Coin Bank”. At the Shengping Theater in Jiufen, the park will host the “Movies Talk” talk show on February 11, and the “Dreams of the Golden City” musical comedy special performances on February 12–13. Shows will start at 2:30 pm each day.

 

Additionally, the cherry blossom season along the Sakura Trail of the Gold Ecological Park typically falls during the Lunar New Year period. Currently, a few wild mountain cherry trees in Jinguashi Old Street have begun to bloom with deep red flowers, and more mountain cherries and Yoshino cherries are expected to gradually come into full bloom during the holiday.
