Art troupes take turns on stage as the Taichung Children's Art Train kicks off on March 17

The "Taichung Children's Art Festival," a large-scale children’s festival art event hosted by the Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, has entered its seventh year this year. The event will run from March 17 to March 30, planned during the Children’s Day holiday period, and will use the “Art Train” concept to connect the Huludun Cultural Center, Tuen District Cultural Center, and Port District Art Center. Five art performances are scheduled, not only allowing children to enjoy the shows but also to personally experience different aspects of performance art, including rehearsals, actor interactions, and hands-on activities. From April 4 to 7, the “Taichung Children's Art Wonderland” series of performances will also be held at the Wenxin Forest Park.

In addition to enjoying classic performances by troupes such as the "Little Frog Theater Troupe," "Dakai Theater Troupe," "Childlike Theater Troupe," "Stubborn Stone Theater Troupe," "Extreme Physical Dance Troupe," and "Only Puppet Theater Troupe," each performance will also include specially planned activities for children before and after the show: the "Stubborn Stone Theater Troupe" and "Dakai Theater Troupe" will take families behind the scenes to witness rehearsals and unveil the mystery of theatrical performances; the "Childlike Theater Troupe" lets children experience the “wishing marbles” ritual of the main characters in the play; the "Little Frog Theater Troupe" creates a visually engaging stage space where the audience can get up close; and the "Extreme Physical Dance Troupe" will use their dance expertise to dance along with the children.

Citizens who are unable to participate in the special theater event plans can still catch all the participating troupes performing outdoors at the Wenxin Forest Park “Taichung Children's Art Wonderland” stage area from April 4 to 7, alongside other performance groups from Taichung City. The Wonderland site will also feature art experience zones planned by each troupe, allowing children to interact with the teams and explore different forms of artistic expression after the shows. The “Taichung Children's Art Train” will offer free ticket pickup on-site starting at 6:30 p.m. on the day of the performance, one ticket per person. The “Taichung Children's Art Wonderland” allows families to freely enter, watch performances, enjoy hands-on experiences, and join the festive fun with various art troupes on-site.
