Kaohsiung Spring Art Grassland Concert Explores NASA's Star World

The first grassland concert of the 2013 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival, the 'NASA Star World' astronomical exploration concert, will be performed on March 9th and 10th on the lakeside grassy slope of the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. The soulful guide of this performance—Director Sun Wei-Hsin of the National Museum of Natural Science—has officially joined the lineup. Together with all members of the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra conducted by Yang Chih-Chin, along with NASA’s high-definition footage and the nine planets that made their preliminary debut on the grassland, they will hold an official full rehearsal at the most beautiful time of dusk to welcome the highly anticipated opening of the grassland concert.

In addition to the multimedia visuals that have been consistently popular in the past, this concert breaks the international convention of one film paired with one symphony. It combines two real outer space videos with two classic symphonies to create a grassland concert. On the day of the performance, in addition to playing well-known timeless masterpieces, the event also emphasizes science education for audiences of all ages. With the live guidance of astronomer and Director of the National Museum of Natural Science, Sun Wei-Xin, his professional and captivating commentary truly represents the perfect integration of astronomical science and musical art. Visitors from southern Taiwan are welcome to experience the Hubble Telescope as their own eyes and symphonic music as a time-traveling melody on the grass of the KMFA from March 9th to 10th, embarking on an unprecedented audiovisual adventure.

Additionally, anyone holding a ticket stub for the grassland concert can get a stamp at the service counter of the Kaohsiung MRT "Aozihdi Station" to ride the shuttle bus for free.
