2. DeRoot
Normal business hours resume starting the second day of the Lunar New Year. The shop is suitable for beginners who are new to board games, and staff provide detailed explanations. Prices are affordable, and customers can enjoy unlimited juice and herbal tea, attracting many students. However, it can sometimes get quite noisy. In addition to board games, the spacious venue can accommodate 170 people and also offers space rental for parties, lectures, and social gatherings.

NL After opening the first Diagon Alley in Dazhi, owner Sam went on to launch Baker Street and Sherlock. The naming inspiration comes from the movie *Sherlock Holmes*. Unlike typical board game cafes that don’t focus much on decor, this shop features red brick walls to create a British retro vibe. With 80 seats, it’s quite spacious, and offers premium drink and coffee machines for unlimited refills. There are four branches in total, open daily from early morning until 10 PM.

NL Closed from New Year’s Eve to the second day of the lunar new year, reopens on the third day. In addition to numerous board games, they also serve lunch, dinner, and drinks. Their pizza is highly recommended by netizens. The staff is friendly—if no one is at the counter, a staff member will play with you. For those who prefer quiet, there are two private rooms available for an extra 100 NTD per hour.

NL Open from the second to the fifth day of the lunar new year. Unlike regular board game cafes, this is a restaurant that thoughtfully provides 15–20 different board games to pass the time while waiting for your food. Since opening its flagship store in Fengjia, Taichung, it has become popular in Taipei, and now has 26 branches across Taipei, Central, Southern Taiwan, and overseas. The menu focuses on Western dishes such as pasta, risotto, and brunch. Minimum spend is 80 NTD per person, and there is a limited dining time of 3 hours on holidays.
