India’s 1001 Nights: A Dance Showcase of Asian Cultural Beauty

In mythology, a silver moon glows softly as the ethereal sounds of the sitar drift from afar. The program “India’s 1001 Nights,” centered around Indian music and dance, will be performed at 7:30 PM on March 31st at the Zhongzheng Hall Performance Theater in Miaoli County, kicking off a mysterious and splendid artistic feast. The performing group, Tara Na Live Arts, will use music, dance, and song to tell the legends of an ancient land. The public is welcome to request free tickets. Ticket requests will be accepted starting at 9:00 AM on March 17th at the service desk on the first floor of the Miaoli County Government International Culture and Tourism Bureau. Each person may request up to two tickets, and supplies are limited.

Focusing on ancient North Indian ballads and regional folk dances, the performance includes classical Kathak dance from North India, Hindustani music, traditional Bengali song and dance, and the exuberant Bhangra dance from Punjab. Dancers not only perform but also serve as narrators, telling stories from the divine kingdom to the audience. At times, they perform classical Indian dance recitations known as Bol, melodic and chant-like, guiding Taiwanese audiences effortlessly into a foreign artistic realm and offering them a rich and unforgettable journey through Indian culture.
