Aside from enjoying the lake and mountain scenery, sampling delicious snacks, and visiting local attractions in Sun Moon Lake, is there any new way to experience it? The Sun Moon Lake Specialty Study Center has invited renowned author Chang Chia-chen to design a 3-day, 2-night “Leisure Activity ‘Play’ Your Way to Language Skills” study tour course. This program leads participants in tea drinking, poetry recitation, painting, and more by the shores of Sun Moon Lake, while families engage in enriching activities such as canoeing, learning about the Thao culture, hiking trails, and rock climbing. Through these fun and diverse experiences, parents and children can grow together, learn from each other, and rediscover the beauty of life from the heart. Registration for the study tour course is now open until March 28, with the first session running from April 4 to April 6. The inaugural group is limited to 20 participants, with a fee of NT$3,970 per person.

On July 5, 2011, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration transformed an idle elementary school into the “Sun Moon Lake Specialty Study Center,” which officially opened for operation. It offers a variety of customized study tour courses for school groups, families, and corporate clients during weekdays, holidays, and school breaks. A 3-day, 2-night “Leisure Activity ‘Play’ Your Way to Language Skills” study tour course will be launched from April 4 to April 6. The three-day course themes are: “Parent-Child Travel Writing – Experiencing Life and Writing with Feeling,” “Parent-Child Eco-Exploration Narrative – Discovering the Joy of Discovery,” and “Parent-Child Tea Art Narrative – Listening to What My Heart Has to Say.”
The course content includes parent-child lectures on parenting insights, hands-on activities such as DIY Thao four-net weaving, experiencing canoeing as brave adventurers, physical activities like climbing to discover new skills, exploring nature along the Shuiwa Trail – observing unique features closely, parent-child creative art exhibitions – exploring artistic thinking and application, and finding inner peace through tea – tasting and discerning flavors and colors. Not only does the program use nature as a classroom, fostering interaction and growth for families in a mountain-and-water setting, but it also encourages communication, cooperation, mutual assistance, and knowledge exchange among participants from different families through various themed lectures and experiential activities.
