Pingtung’s Shan Chuan Glass Bridge Stays Open During Lunar New Year & Adds Extra Shuttle Buses

The Shan Chuan Glass Bridge remains open for New Year outings—no closure from Lunar New Year’s Day to the 5th. Pingtung’s most beautiful smiling skyline is now accessible. Free scheduled on-site interpretation services are available at the bridge’s entrances, helping visitors learn about the local cultural and landscape charm. These services also connect with tribal guides to offer deeper insights into the indigenous villages of northern Pingtung, allowing you to experience the craftsmanship and agrifood culture of the Paiwan and Rukai peoples.

Interpreters will be stationed at both ends of the bridge to provide scheduled talks about the Shan Chuan Glass Bridge and nearby attractions. For those wanting a full guided tour, advance online reservations can be made up to three days before your visit. A dedicated guide will then be assigned to take you through the bridge area in approximately 50 minutes. Additionally, the Shan Chuan Glass Bridge Tribal Shuttle Bus will operate with onboard interpreters, taking passengers on a tour around the villages near the bridge. These services are available from Lunar New Year’s Day to the 5th, even on Mondays.

Opening Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Closed on New Year’s Eve (1/27)
Admission: General admission NT$50, Concession NT$40, Special NT$30; Children under 6 (inclusive) free. Kids aged 7–12, seniors over 65 (55+ for Indigenous people), and Pingtung residents can enjoy the special rate of NT$30 with valid ID. Group bookings are NT$40 per person for the concession rate.

Service Period: Available daily from Lunar New Year’s Day (1/28, Saturday) to the 5th (2/1, Wednesday).*Outside the holiday period, service is only available on Saturdays and Sundays.
