Mother's Day Mom-Tong Le Hui at West Lake Resort to admire Tung Blossoms

 

West Lake Resort covers a vast area, with about two-thirds of it planted with Tung trees. Every late spring to early summer, the snow-white Tung blossoms quietly bloom on the branches. Here, you can enjoy the poetic charm of late spring while strolling beneath the Tung blossom trees. The fragrant clusters of flowers nearby are not only pleasing to the eye but also allow you to have a picnic under the trees. Moreover, you can ride a bike around the resort or take a walk along the forest trail... The various postures of Tung blossoms can all be admired here in one go. From mid-April onward, Tung blossoms gradually come into full bloom. Miss this chance, and you’ll have to wait another year. Follow the steps of nature and come admire the Tung blossoms together.

 

The “May Snow Tung Blossom Festival” is held from April 13 to May 12, featuring five major Tung blossom viewing areas in the resort:

1. Tung Blossom Forest Viewing Area – Twelve Zodiac Sculpture Garden, Sanyang Kaitai Trail

2. Lake and Mountain Scenery Viewing Area – Lakeview Pavilion, Lakeside Café

3. Green Valley Viewing Area – Green Valley Hiking Trail

4. Blessing Wish Viewing Area – Lingshan Cave Blessing Tunnel

5. Hidden Gem Viewing Area – Secret Tung Blossom Spot behind Minghu Conference Room

These Tung blossom spots also offer the delightful surprise of firefly viewing, along with views of West Lake’s scenic landscapes. You can also immerse yourself in forest bathing within nature, enjoying both physical relaxation and mental relief. Whether it’s visual satisfaction or bodily rejuvenation, it's perfect for family gatherings with relatives and friends of all ages.

 

The resort management also organizes various Tung blossom-related events, such as the Andersen Tong Le Hui storytelling event on May 5, the Mommy Tong Le Hui sketching competition on May 12, and the “Loving West Lake May Snow” photography contest.
