Taiwan Railways boasts the two most beautiful train stations in Taiwan — “Nandarou in the south, Badouzi in the north.” As soon as you arrive, stunning ocean views greet you, complemented by majestic mountain scenery and railway vistas that attract countless visitors on pilgrimages. Since Badouzi Station officially opened on December 28 last year, the route has been extended from HSR Museum Station to Badouzi Station, offering convenient access for travelers to watch the sunrise in the morning and enjoy the sea breeze in the evening, making it a popular attraction.

1. Darou Station
Known as “the most beautiful station in Taiwan,” Taitung’s “Darou Train Station” in Taimali was closed in 2007 due to low passenger volume. However, its railway tracks, iconic red railings, and spectacular ocean views have made it a favorite photography spot for railway enthusiasts. On a clear day, every shot looks like a postcard.

Darou Train Station information:
No. 8-1, Longxi Road, Darou Village, Taimali Township, Taitung County. Located at the end of Taimali Township in Taitung, it can be reached by turning right at the 417.5 km mark on Provincial Highway 9.

2. Badouzi Station
The northern Taiwan hidden gem “Badouzi Station,” which rivals the beauty of Taiwan’s most picturesque Darou Station, officially opened on December 28 last year. With the extension of the route from HSR Museum Station to Badouzi Station, the Shen’ao branch line now spans 4.7 km, reclaiming its reputation as one of the most scenic coastal railways. Taiwan Railways invested NT$10.82 million to rebuild Badouzi Station, which now offers sunrise views in the morning and sea breezes in the evening, becoming the most beautiful hidden gem station in northern Taiwan.

Badouzi Station information:
Trains run approximately once an hour at Badouzi Station, with four services in the morning and six in the afternoon. The last train departs at 6:12 PM.
