High-speed rail student summer discounts start at 50% off every day

Summer vacation is approaching. Taiwan High Speed Rail will launch a special student discount program from July 1 to September 1, featuring specially scheduled summer discounted trains with up to 249 discounted services per week. All currently enrolled college and university students riding in standard class reserved seats on designated “off-peak train services” during the period are eligible for a 50% or 70% discount. Discounted services are available every day, and advance booking opens on June 4.

The high-speed rail company stated that this student discount program includes 91 services with 50% off and 158 services with 70% off, totaling 249 discounted services per week—37 more than the current ongoing discount program. Among them, there are 23 more 50% off services and 14 more 70% off services.

 

During the campaign period, all college and university students nationwide can enjoy the above discounts by presenting their valid student ID cards at any THSR station ticket window to purchase standard class reserved seats on designated services. Each valid ID may be used to purchase only one ticket per journey per transaction. Passengers must carry their valid student ID for inspection when boarding.
