“Durian & Mango” – Malaysia’s Top-Tier Tropical Fruit Festival, Come Taste It at Home
Durian, known as the “King of Fruits,” not only has a rich flavor but also a unique aroma that is highly distinctive. Club Med Cherating Bay in Malaysia is the perfect place to savor it. The durians here are naturally ripe, fallen from the trees, and have a richer taste and fragrance compared to those from other regions, making them the preferred choice for fruit lovers. Especially from June to August, the durians produced in Balik Pulau, Penang, are rich in flesh and have a strong aroma. Even the golden-yellow pulp that drips out is incredibly tempting, making it the most popular durian variety among locals. Therefore, the festival has another catchy slogan: “Durian Season, Mango Fun.” It’s the best time to enjoy Malaysia’s tropical fruits.
Every year, this festival attracts durian lovers from around the world to the “Durian Capital.” The “Durian & Mango Month” event will be held from June 30th to July 31st at the Balik Pulau Viewpoint and Balik Pulau New Market. As soon as visitors step into the orchard, they can smell the rich aroma of durians all around. At the festival, you can not only enjoy the “Durian King” but also sample many other durian varieties. The durians here are much sweeter and more fragrant than those found in other areas, making them the most beloved fruit among visitors. Each year during the festival, the “Durian Tasting Competition” and “Durian Eating Contest” are highlights, with the durians being top-grade competition fruits.
