Taiwan’s well-traveled “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle” service has just added a new “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line,” passing through Beitou Park, Grass Mountain Chateau, Yangmingshu Mansion, and more. The Beitou Hot Spring area has long been a top holiday destination for travelers, while Yangmingshan is perfect for family outings. The Taipei City Government has transformed the existing local bus route 9, which shuttles between Beitou and Zhuzihhu, into the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line.” This route travels from downtown Beitou up to the mountainous areas of Yangmingshan and Zhuzihhu, passing popular sights such as Beitou Park, Sulfur Valley, Yangmingshan Park, Grass Mountain Chateau, and Yangmingshu Mansion. It boasts a rich mix of cultural history and natural ecology, offering diverse sightseeing experiences—from the nostalgic charm of the Beitou Hot Spring Museum and the ever-changing seasonal beauty of Yangmingshan to the romantic walkways of calla lilies in Zhuzihhu during spring—all easily accessible.

The “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line” is designed around three themes: “Hot Springs,” “Nature,” and “Travel.” In addition to themed interiors inside the buses, each of the three vehicles plays exclusive music corresponding to its theme. Furthermore, carefully selected sounds of Taipei tree frogs, Taiwan blue magpies, Yangmingshan evening cicadas, Formosan fairy pittas, and Taiwan yuhinas—common and iconic species in Yangmingshan—are combined with children’s voiceovers to create custom bus stop chimes, accompanying passengers as they disembark for their adventures.

To encourage more people to take the “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line,” visitors can now go to any of Taipei’s 12 tourist service centers, scan the QR code for Liu Kezang’s audio guide using a smartphone or tablet, or take a photo on the “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line” bus. By showing the scanned page or photo at any of the 12 tourist service centers, they can receive an exclusive souvenir of the “Beitou-Zhuzihhu Line.”
