Last updated 2026-09-25 — Embrace the vibrant summer with the rhythm of music！ Starting in July, a total of 11 music events will take place across Taiwan, one after another. In addition to the well-known Gongliao Ocean Music Festival, the first to kick off are the Yilan Wushi Harbor Ocean Music Festival and the Taichung Lounge Music Street, offering two distinctly different musical experiences—one a beach party and the other an urban music extravaganza. Following that, the Midsummer Night’s Dream at Taiping Mountain, the Mashagou Music Festival, the Wanggong Fishing Fire Festival, and the long-awaited return of the Wild Stage Music Festival, a veteran of Taiwan’s music festival scene, will all light up this summer.

2013 Toucheng Ocean Culture & Tourism Festival July 5–7, 7/13–14
As part of the “2013 Toucheng Ocean Culture & Tourism Festival” organized by Toucheng Township Office in Yilan County, the “Wave Fun Wushi Harbor WOO-HA Ocean Music Festival” will take place at Wushi Harbor in Yilan. From the evenings of July 5 and 6, there will be beach music performances featuring artists such as Super Idol winner Hsieh Po-an, Julie Y, Sun You-an, and DJ SerPico. On July 7, 13, and 14, ocean leisure activity experiences are planned, including an international surfing competition, paragliding demonstrations, sandboarding lessons, jet ski rides, banana boat rides, and whale-watching cruises. Taichung City “Lounge Music Street” July 5–August 24
Taichung City’s annual summer music event, the “Summer Lounge Music Street,” will officially kick off on Friday evening, July 5. This year, the first event of the 2013 Summer Lounge Music Street, and a decade-long first, is “Echoes Everywhere,” a collaboration with the Confucius Temple. Utilizing the temple’s serene and Zen-inspired unique venue, internationally renowned acts—“Youren Divine Drum,” the a cappella group “O-Kai Singers,” and the “Chinese Flute Art Troupe”—will perform a classical yet modern midsummer concert. On the same evening, the “Midsummer Joy Night” will also take place at the Qingshui Park in Waipu District, featuring performances by the Taiwan Brass Quintet and the Mu-Xia String Quartet.
This year’s Lounge Music Street events will run from July 5 to August 24, with 21 outdoor concerts held every Friday or Saturday evening at 19:30 in various public outdoor spaces across districts. In previous years, many people followed the Lounge Music Street to enjoy music in different areas. This year, the public is encouraged to explore all 21 districts to discover their unique musical flavors and local characteristics. Atayal Art Week & Midsummer Night’s Dream Music Feast July 6, 7/13, 7/20
The Lanyang Forest District Office will host the “2013 Atayal Art Week & Midsummer Night’s Dream Music Feast – Notes Leaping with Phytoncides” series of events this summer. On July 6 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, local indigenous junior high and elementary school students will perform traditional Atayal dances showcasing strength and beauty to touch visitors’ hearts. On July 13 and 20, music feasts will be held, featuring performances by the S4 Saxophone Quartet and the Staff Sheet Jazz Band, allowing visitors to relax under the starry sky in the embrace of nature, enjoying a romantic evening at the plaza in front of the Taiping Mountain Service Station. Gongliao Ocean Music Festival July 10–14
The northern Taiwan music highlight—the New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival—will span five days with five major themes: “Rock the Global Village,” “Taiwan Family Rock,” “Women Power Rock 2.0,” “Ocean Indie Music Awards,” and “Surf My Sea Fest!” In addition to popular bands from Russia, the United States, Australia, and Japan, outstanding Taiwanese indie bands and singers—such as Won Fu, Chairman, Echo, Bai An, Jia Jia, io, Skin Deep, 2011 Ocean Indie Music Award winners BOXING (Boxing), and 2012 Ocean Indie Music Award winners Suixin—will also perform on the same stage. Taiwan’s two leading creative bands, “Mayday” and “Sodagreen,” will take the main stage on the first and last days of the festival, injecting even more rock energy into the event.
