As the cherry blossom season gradually arrives, besides admiring the beauty of cherry blossoms during the day, their enchanting appearance under nighttime illumination is equally captivating. There are several great spots to enjoy night cherry blossoms around Taiwan, including Taipei’s Lohas Park and Nantou’s Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. The pink cherry blossoms take on a different charm under the evening lights, offering a taste of Japan without needing to fly there.

1. Taipei – Neihu Lohas Park
Located in Neihu District, Lohas Park is a well-known spot for cherry blossom viewing in Taipei. It features a 3-kilometer cherry blossom path. Last year, the Bureau of Public Works installed 32 street lamps along the path, making it a popular new destination for night cherry blossom viewing. The park is situated by Donghu’s Neigou Stream and is home to many varieties of cherry blossoms. Around the Lunar New Year each year, the first area’s upper section bursts into bloom with hundreds of Taiwan cherry trees, transitioning from pale pink to deep pink and crimson. Delicate and soft in color, they are truly beautiful.

2. Taichung – Wuling Farm
Wuling Farm is one of Taiwan’s top destinations for cherry blossom viewing. Each year during the cherry blossom season, it attracts tens of thousands of visitors. During the day, the farm is surrounded by seas of pink blossoms, creating a breathtakingly beautiful scene. At night, when the blossoms are illuminated against the starry sky, the view becomes even more romantic and picturesque.

3. Nantou – Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village
Central Taiwan’s largest cherry blossom destination, Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, sees over 5,000 cherry trees blooming in succession starting in late January. During the day, you can admire the cherry blossoms, ride the Japanese-style Asakusa rickshaws, dress up in traditional yukata, and take the transparent cable car over Sun Moon Lake. The village also offers the best night cherry blossom views in Taiwan, making it a highlight of the annual blossom season.
