The Bitan Suspension Bridge Music Light Show will be performed every half hour starting August 3.

Taiwan’s first light show on the Bitan Suspension Bridge that dances and moves in sync with music has brought endless imagination and emotion to every viewer since its debut. To allow more visitors to experience the beauty and rhythm of the bridge’s light display, the New Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau has adjusted the full-hour light show schedule starting August 3. The show will now take place every 30 minutes from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM each evening, with a different theme for each day of the week. The weekly themes are, in order: Shining, Ripples, Dreams, Flowing Water, Shuttle, Waves, and Chase. The background music is “Light Spirit” by renowned American pianist Kevin Kern. The gentle and soothing melodies paired with the dynamic light display create a roughly 4.5-minute light show that feels like a beam of spiritual light—bringing warmth and happiness while fulfilling every visitor’s splendid imagination of a music and light show.

In addition to the music light show performed every half hour, live concerts will also be held on the evenings of August 3 and 10 starting at 7:00 PM. The “Quality Orchestra,” founded by Dr. Xie Chaozhong, a former member of the Taipei Symphony Orchestra, and the “Follow Your Heart Orchestra,” which focuses on improvisation, will perform in the blue tent area and the East Bank Plaza, respectively. During the performances, audiences can enjoy a variety of Western classical music and classic love songs, such as Mozart’s Divertimento No. 3, Vivaldi’s Violin Concerto, Moon River, She, Those Were the Days, and Endless Love—guaranteed to be thrilling and unforgettable.

 

The concerts on the evenings of August 3 and 10 will also combine with the light show at 7:30 PM, performing an exciting audiovisual spectacle featuring Vivaldi’s “Summer” third movement. Classical music lovers and those who enjoy the scenery of Bitan are welcome not to miss this chance to experience a visual and musical feast blending classical music with the beauty of Bitan under the summer night sky.
