Bloggers, take note: Taipei International Travel Fair citizen reporters now open for applications

Taiwan’s largest annual ITF Taipei International Travel Fair will take place from October 18 to 21. This year, the event has expanded even further, adding a “Homestay & Gourmet Theme Zone” on the second floor of Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center for the first time, with a total of as many as 1,350 exhibition booths. In addition, this year continues to invite eight major social networking platforms—Wretch, PC home Personal News Station, Yahoo Blog, Xuite, Sina Blog, Yam Sky Blog, udn Blog, and Xinmedia—to jointly host the eighth ITF Citizen Reporter Selection Event. Applications are now open, with plans to select 20 citizen reporters. In addition to receiving a citizen reporter certificate and being invited to attend press conferences and conduct on-site interviews at the travel fair, there is also an opportunity to be invited to report domestically and internationally.

In response to the needs of tourism industry players, this year’s ITF Travel Fair has expanded further, with approximately 60 countries and nearly 1,000 domestic and international tourism organizations participating. New countries include Argentina, Chile, Egypt, and Seychelles. This year, the “Homestay & Gourmet Theme Zone” is set up in Zone H on the second floor of Hall 1 of the Taipei World Trade Center for the first time, expanding the exhibition scale from 1,200 booths to 1,350 booths. Those who enjoy experiencing homestays and travel both in Taiwan and abroad can seize the opportunity to visit the Taipei World Trade Center from October 18 to 21.

 

The selection of active travel blog moderators to serve as citizen reporters for the Taipei International Travel Fair has entered its eighth edition. This year’s application period runs from early August to September 1, with joint selection by major blog websites including Wretch, udn Blog, PC home Personal News Station, Sina Blog, Xuite Blog, Yahoo Blog, and Yam Sky Blog. Bloggers on other platforms can also apply through the Xinmedia event website. Each platform will select two citizen reporters. Additionally, the organizing committee will also select 3–5 seasoned travel experts from past citizen reporters, with a total of 20 travel fair citizen reporters expected to be selected. The final list will be announced on September 13 on the official website, blogs, and Facebook page of the Taipei International Travel Fair, with the term lasting one year until the end of September 2014. Each travel fair citizen reporter will be issued a reporter certificate by the organizing committee, allowing free access to the exhibition area for interviews and reporting during the fair, as well as the use of the press room. Throughout the term, if travel organizations such as travel agencies, hotels, and airlines issue visit invitations, citizen reporters may also have the opportunity to participate in interviews.
