2017 Kaohsiung Lantern Festival"Greater Port Fireworks"Made a spectacular debut, with fireworks launched across three major waterfront areas — along the Love River, Glorious Pier, and Pier No. 1. For a cozy and romantic way to enjoy the beautiful fireworks, staying at a hotel is also a great choice. The Howard Plaza Hotel is located right across from Glorious Pier, making it arguably the best spot to view the fireworks, offering an unobstructed panoramic view of the harbor night scenery.

The Greater Port Fireworks show featured high-altitude fireworks launched along the 1,000-meter breakwater of Qijin and Shoushan. On February 4th, themed around the year 106, the show lasted 10 minutes and 6 seconds; on February 11th, inspired by the year 2017, it extended to an impressive 20 minutes and 17 seconds of high-altitude fireworks, illuminating the entire harbor city.
