Typhoon Sanba, the No. 2 typhoon, forms as cold air arrives and temperatures drop below 10°C

Late on the evening of the 11th, cold air moved southward, causing temperatures to drop across the regions. Starting in the evening, areas north of Chiayi, Yilan, and Kinmen and Matsu will experience lows around 10°C.From the 12th to the early morning of the 14th, under the influence of cold air and radiational cooling, temperatures will be noticeably lower. From night to early morning, areas north of Kaohsiung, Yilan, the Huatung Valley, and Kinmen and Matsu are prone to lows below 10°C, with the lowest temperature potentially reaching 8°C.Starting on Wednesday the 14th, there will be a gradual warming trend. On the 15th, there remains a chance of lows around 10°C in central and northern Taiwan as well as Matsu. In addition to staying warm, users of gas water heaters should ensure proper indoor ventilation to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, and those using electric heating appliances should also pay attention to electrical safety.

Tropical Storm Sanba, the No. 2 typhoon (international name: SANBA), formed into a typhoon around 2 PM on the 11th. Its center was located at 6.80°N, 135.90°E, moving westward at a speed of 29 km/h. There is a chance of localized heavy rain in Keelung’s northern coast and Hualien’s mountainous areas. Be cautious of landslides and falling rocks. Northern Taiwan will see temperatures between 15–20°C, central areas between 18–24°C, southern areas around 18–25°C, and eastern areas between 16–21°C.
