Taiwan’s only duck-shaped station makes its adorable debut in Kaohsiung

The globally popular yellow rubber duck is set to make its appearance at Kaohsiung’s Glory Pier on September 19. To welcome the Taiwanese debut of the yellow duck in Kaohsiung, the New Zuoying Station branch of Uni-President Department Store has mobilized duck figures from all its branches nationwide to jointly create Taiwan’s one-of-a-kind Uni-President Duck-themed station. The store has also set up a dedicated Uni-President Duck exhibition area and a fun duck-themed staircase, greeting the arrival of the yellow duck in Kaohsiung with an ultra-cute vibe.

The five displayed Uni-President Ducks are not only adorable but each has a unique personality, symbolizing the positioning and characteristics of each Uni-President Department Store branch. The “Dream Duck” from Zhonghe branch is outgoing and lively, striving to become a rising star; the “Beauty Duck” from Banqiao branch is kind and peace-loving, believing that beautiful things can make the world a better place; the “Shakespeare Duck” from New Zuoying branch loves beach volleyball and is a superstar on Uni-President’s sandy courts; the “Surf Duck” from Pingtung branch is sunny and enthusiastic, aiming to surf on beaches around the world; and the “Wish Duck” from Hsinchu branch is passionate about art and culture, lighting up everyone’s wishes with sky lanterns.

The Uni-President Department Store New Zuoying Station Branch has also planned a series of special events. From now until October 20, take part in the “Shakespeare Duck Check-in Activity”—just snap a photo with any Uni-President Duck inside the store, upload it, and you can exchange it for an “Exclusive Shakespeare Duck Ticket Sticker Set” at the 3F service counter. Additionally, Shakespeare Duck will make surprise appearances at various specialty stores. If you spot Shakespeare Duck in a store, it means exclusive discounts are available. On September 21, TASTY Café will host a “Tea Time – Duck Cupcake Decoration DIY” event at the 3F Duck Plaza. Professional instructors will guide participants in decorating duck-themed cupcakes, and coffee drinks will also be available for tasting. The participation fee is NT$250 (for two people), and the event is limited to 20 participants.
