This shop, Mountain House Brunch, is located on Southeast Street in Hsinchu City, not far from the Hsinchu Museum of Glass. Because the area is close to a school district, there are many breakfast shops nearby. Although Mountain House Brunch does not have an obvious signboard, its overall decor style is noticeably different from other breakfast spots — simple and comfortable. There aren’t many seats inside, so it’s inevitable that you’ll have to queue up on holidays.

The toast at Mountain House Brunch is all handmade mountain-shaped toast. It is larger than standard square toast and also thicker. What’s more special is that, to suit different flavor preferences for toast texture, Mountain House offers two types: crispy crust and soft crust. The crispy one has a texture similar to French bread, while the soft one is more tender.
