The first National Day fireworks show of the year drew 100,000 spectators, with the second installment set to light up the sky this Saturday.

Hsinchu City’s 102nd National Day Fireworks “Flowers Blooming in the Windy City” series kicked off with the high-energy “HIGH翻东关埔” evening event on the 28th at the Guanpu Redevelopment Area in Hsinchu City. Powerhouse acts including EDM queen Jolin Tsai lit up the stage with electrifying performances. A dazzling 20-minute fireworks display illuminated the night sky, kicking off the festive spirit ahead of the Double Ten National Day on October 10. For those who missed it, don’t worry—the second event in the series will take place from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM this Saturday (October 5) at Hsinchu City’s Haishan Fishing Port. Fans of Jolin Tsai can also catch her stunning performance at the National Day gala on October 10.

The “HIGH翻东关埔” event featured a star-studded concert as a prelude to the Double Ten National Day celebrations. Rock prince Zhang Zhenyue kicked things off with high-octane rock band hits like “Don’t Go” to get the crowd pumped. Singer-songwriter Wei Li’an and Super Idol winner Zhu Lijing performed the passionate “Light Up Love” and their new song “Power of Existence” in striking red dresses. Music veterans including Golden Melody Award winner Luantan A-Xiang and Star Idol contestant Ye Weiting took turns delivering emotionally resonant songs. The night culminated with EDM queen Jolin Tsai, whose electrifying moves and dazzling legs captivated the audience. She performed high-energy hits like “Jump,” “Number One,” and “Dance with You + Beep Beep Beep,” sending waves of excitement through the crowd. Fans blew whistles and cheered as their idol delivered one stunning performance after another.

 

The opening fireworks of Hsinchu City’s National Day celebration officially lit up the sky just before the end of the evening event. A kaleidoscope of colorful sparks and blooming floral patterns lit up the night sky as around 100,000 visitors from all over crowded the venue to take photos. The fireworks above mirrored the LED screens below, creating a dreamlike scene. Rarely seen artistic sky lantern fireworks floated slowly at a distance, fascinating the audience and earning thunderous applause. Those who missed the event can head to the “Haishan Trendy Night” concert at Xiangshan Haishan Fishing Port on October 5, leading up to the grand fireworks spectacle over Hsinchu Fishing Port on October 10.
