Tokyo Tower turns pink to promote International Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Since 2000, campaigns for International Breast Cancer Awareness Day have incorporated landmark lighting, where buildings shine or project pink lights as a giant pink ribbon, symbolizing the importance of breast cancer prevention. October 1st is the day when 38 major landmarks around the world light up together. While traveling and admiring these public structures, people can also spread awareness and the importance of early detection.
