New Taipei Hot Spring Festival Kicks Off – Limited $100 “Hot Spring Packs” Now on Sale

As the weather turns cooler, hot spring events are popping up all over Taiwan during the refreshing autumn season. This year, the New Taipei City Government has collaborated with various hot spring resorts within the city to jointly organize the “2013 New Taipei City Hot Spring Food Festival” from November 4 to December 15. During the event, a variety of value-packed package deals will be offered, featuring hot springs and food recommendations from areas such as Jinshan, Wanli, Wulai, Xindian, Tamsui, Bali, and Sanxia. With the theme of “Urban Slow Living,” the festival unites 66 local businesses to promote a new lifestyle attitude centered around “slow travel, slow food, slow living, and slow appreciation.” A range of special offers including “hot spring baths, gourmet dining, accommodation, tour packages, creative crafts, and sightseeing workshops” will be available, creating the coziest winter moments.

In addition, this year also sees the launch of the “New Taipei Hot Spring Mini Pack,” inspired by the image of wearing a yukata and carrying a cute little tote while soaking in the hot springs. The pack includes essential items for a hot spring experience such as a small towel, the “Good Times Notebook” hot spring guidebook, and discount vouchers worth a total of NT$588 — all available for just NT$128. The “New Taipei Hot Spring Mini Pack” will officially go on sale at 11:00 AM on November 4. Members of the public can purchase them via the event’s official website or at the New Taipei City Civic Plaza. Each person is limited to one pack per valid ID, with only 1,500 packs available and sales on a first-come, first-served basis. Meanwhile, participants in the “New Taipei Hot Spring Dance Creative Video Contest” also have the chance to win accommodation vouchers worth over NT$10,000 or luxury hot spring room vouchers worth over NT$3,000.
