Ring in 2014 ! Countdown to 20 Cross-Countdowns and Sunrise Events Across Taiwan

The Northeast Coast & Yilan Coast National Scenic Area will host the “2014 Northeast Coast Sunrise Festival – Win at the Start” concert event, taking place from 3:30 AM to 7:30 AM on the grass field of Fulong Beach. The event will feature performances by well-known artists and bands such as Yu Bingyue, Chen Jielun, OVDS, Lin Xinyi, Guan Shimin, Zhu Lijing, Bii Bi Shujin, and Chen Shian, who will join the public in welcoming the first sunrise of the year.

The Toucheng Township Office will also hold the “2014 Love You for a Lifetime – Toucheng Romantic Sunrise Welcome,” themed around romance, hope, blessings, and peace. The event will take place at 5:00 AM on January 1, 2014, at Waiao Beach next to the Waiao Visitor Service Center. The program will begin with a splendid performance by a traditional Chinese orchestra, followed by an LED light and sound show. Organizers will also prepare colorful balloons on which the public can write their wishes. These balloons will be released into the sky amid the sound of a dynamic drum performance, greeting the first sunrise over the Lanyang Plain under the glowing morning light. Additionally, the Lanyang Museum will offer free entry to the first 100 participants of the sunrise event on New Year’s Day. Kuo Kuang Holidays will also offer special sunrise tour packages.

This year’s “Taipei New Year’s Eve 2014 Countdown Party – Taipei’s Most Exciting New Year’s City” will go international, featuring live simultaneous connections with Japan’s NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen and Fukuyama Masaharu’s Yokohama concert ! For the first time, Japanese superstar Fukuyama Masaharu, known as the “King of Music,” will perform exclusively for the Taipei countdown party, designing a special performance just for the event. He will also interact directly with the audience on-site.

 

The lineup for the night includes strong acts such as Linda Liu, Xie Jinyan, Yoga Lin, Wei Bird, Liu Ziqian, Bii, Dream Girls, Lin Meixiu, Ma Nianxian, Chairman Band, Luan Tan A-Xiang, Pan Weibo, and SHE, among others. Experts from various fields have also been invited, including the Ministry of National Defense’s Tri-Service Military Band, which has created a special performance exclusively for the Taipei countdown. The performances aim to inspire and encourage everyone to embrace the new year with a more positive and proactive attitude. Taiwan’s pride, Yang Dai-kang, along with Chinese Professional Baseball League heroes Luo Jinlong, Lin Zhisheng, Chen Yongji, Gao Zhigang, Zhou Siqi, Yang Yaohsun, and Guo Yanwen, will also join in the celebration. With the unlimited determination and dream-chasing spirit of baseball players, they will bring even more positive energy to Taipei’s New Year’s Eve, inspiring and touching everyone !

Taoyuan County Government has also lined up an impressive lineup for this year’s Taoyuan Countdown Party. Starting at 6:00 PM on December 31, the performances will be held continuously at the Taoyuan County Multi-Arts and Culture Park. Featured performers include award-winning singer-songwriter Chen Qizhen, making her exclusive countdown debut and closing the show for Taoyuan ; rock legend Wu Bai ; karaoke queen Ding Dang ; pop star Yoga Lin ; soprano Deng Fu-ru ; internet sensation Ann Li ; Grammy-winning band MATZKA ; healing songstress Jiang Meiqi ; quirky retro band Wang Fu ; Taiwanese pop queen Huang Fei ; all-girl group POPU LADY ; handsome idol Bii Bi Shujin ; and dance-pop group Free Style, among 13 artist groups performing back-to-back to create a powerful and spectacular 2014 New Year’s Eve in Taoyuan.
