Now you can enjoy affordable hot pot in northern Kaohsiung too—Wu Xian Ji satisfies even more hot pot lovers. The dining space at Wen Zi Dian is super comfortable and spacious, making it a great spot for group meals. The soup base has also been upgraded for richer flavors, and we highly recommend trying the Dragon Bone Soup, Spicy Soup, and Sukiyaki. Individual pots or a yin-yang combo are both great choices. The broth is homemade and paired with carefully selected meats and veggies in generous portions. The restaurant also offers unlimited rice and drinks, ensuring a very satisfying meal.

▲Yin-Yang Hot Pot (Dragon Bone + Spicy) with Plum Blossom Pork – NTD 179 (Additional meat + NTD 40)
Wu Xian Ji’s yin-yang hot pot lets you enjoy two soup bases in one go—pretty enjoyable for a solo hot pot experience. Xiao Hu went for the dragon bone and spicy options, which pair really well together. When things get too spicy, you can sip on the refreshing dragon bone broth.

▲ The dragon bone broth is light, smooth, and subtly fragrant. It’s homemade by the shop using a blend of natural ingredients, resulting in a rich and mellow taste.

▲ The spicy broth has always been a favorite of Hu Li duo. It shares the same base as the dragon bone broth but adds a kick of numbing-spicy flavor. Despite the spice, it doesn’t feel overly greasy.

▲ When eating spicy hot pot, duck blood is a must-try. Wu Xian Ji uses certified duck blood for added peace of mind.

▲Plum Blossom Pork (Additional meat + NTD 40)
Xiao Hu’s yin-yang hot pot includes plum blossom pork, which you can upgrade for a larger portion. The generous slices of meat are super satisfying.

▲ At Wu Xian Ji, you can enjoy unlimited free rice refills. The plum blossom pork cooked in the spicy broth takes on a slight kick and pairs perfectly with dipping sauce and rice. Big eaters will definitely leave full here!

▲ An individual yin-yang hot pot comes with a hearty portion. These are just the basic toppings and meat—you can add more ingredients if you like—but it’s already quite filling, and the unlimited rice really hits the spot.

▲Sukiyaki with Japanese Snowflake Beef – NTD 219 (Additional meat + NTD 50)
Sally loves sukiyaki and almost always orders it when visiting Wu Xian Ji. The broth is also homemade, with a refreshing, savory-sweet soy flavor.

▲ The sukiyaki broth has been specially adjusted to be clear yet flavorful. Cooking veggies in it makes them even sweeter, and it’s delicious to drink on its own too.

▲Japanese Snowflake Beef (Additional meat + NTD 50)
Japanese Snowflake Beef has a bit of marbling, offering a tender and smooth texture without being too greasy. Sally also upgraded her meat portion, which was very generous.

▲ When Japanese Snowflake Beef is lightly blanched in the sukiyaki pot, it soaks up the sweet-salty soy flavor and becomes especially fragrant. It has a nice chew and Q-texture.

▲ The hot pot toppings are all carefully selected—we especially love the black pepper meatballs, which have a spicy-numbing kick and smooth texture. The dried bamboo shoot & sesame fish balls and xinxin sausages are also great.

▲Glass Noodles – NTD 15
Although Wu Xian Ji offers unlimited rice, Sally really wanted glass noodles, so she ordered them as an add-on. The sukiyaki’s soy-based broth is perfect for cooking glass noodles—they absorb the flavor and become deliciously rich.

▲ Once cooked, the glass noodles turn glossy with soy color and have a Q-textured, flavorful bite. If you’re worried about not getting full, pairing them with rice does the trick.

▲Seafood Medley – NTD 180
We added an order of the Seafood Medley, which features a variety of seafood in an impressive presentation—imitation crab sticks, red snapper slices, yellowtail slices, scallops, scallop adductors, white shrimp, scallops, and clams. It feels like Wu Xian Ji is always upgrading its broth and ingredients. Even as an affordable hot pot spot, it offers a fantastic visual and flavor experience.

▲ The seafood was very fresh and satisfying.

▲ You can add more broth to any of Wu Xian Ji’s hot pots, and all soup base options remain available even toward the end of your meal, keeping their rich flavor intact.

▲ You can help yourself to the dipping sauces.

▲ The shop also offers unlimited chilled drinks. Eating affordable hot pot at Wu Xian Ji with unlimited rice and drinks really fills you up.

Life is about experiences, and living is about trying new things!“Taste” is a very subjective thing—only when expectations are met and emotions are stirred can a beloved flavor be born.
